BREAKING: Acadiana target of nationwide bomb threat

(12/13/18) UPDATE: UL’s campus has been cleared. 

The FBI has issued a statement on the rash of bomb threats send via email nationwide:

“We are aware of the recent bomb threats made in cities around the country, and we remain in touch with our law enforcement partners to provide assistance. As always, we encourage the public to remain vigilant and to promptly report suspicious activities which could represent a threat to public safety.” 


ORIGINAL STORY: Emails were sent to several locations, including LUS Fiber on Moss Street and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s campus.

Agencies, businesses and media throughout the country have been targeted by a similar threats sent via email. 

At least four businesses, some in the River Ranch area, have been targeted, Cpl. Bridgette Dugas said. 

A threat was also sent to UL’s campus at 600 McKinley Street.
