Bastrop teacher accused of attacking 4th grader

Local News

(02/07/18) A parent is seeking charges against a Bastrop teacher after her fourth grader was left with shoulder injuries.

A police report filed with the Bastrop Police Department alleges that a fifth grade math teacher at Morehouse Jr. High School jerked a 12 year old student’s arm aggressively.

As a result the student sustained an AC shoulder sprain which is alleged to have happened after the teacher claimed the student bullied her son.

The mother of the fourth grade student told NBC 10 that this altercation left her son crying. She said he did not understand why the teacher was yelling and jerking him around.

NBC 10 is in contact with the mother and the Morehouse Parish Superintendent’s Office to learn more about how the district is handling this incident.

We will continue with updates as they become available.
