ORIGINAL STORY:

MAUMELLE, Ark. – An arrest warrant was issued on Wednesday for the Maumelle High School band director in connection with a sexual assault case.

Carl Mouton is accused of having inappropriate contact with a 16-year-old student, police said.

The allegations date back to September 2013, and investigators say the inappropriate contact is alleged to have continued until this year.

Police say the allegations were reported to the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children hotline by a concerned parent not related to the alleged victim.

Mouton faces a charge of second-degree sexual assault. He was accused in a similar case in 1999 at another Pulaski County Special School District school. Those allegations were not pursued by the alleged victim, police said.
