Two people in Monroe are now in jail,  accusing each other of Domestic Abuse.

Police were called to a home in south Monroe in reference to a battery complaint.

Once officers arrived, William Gipson Jr. told them that Sandra Daniel had held a handgun to his head.

Gipson then said that he ran from Daniel and into their shared residence where he shut and locked the door.

A witness told officers that he was near the house and heard a gunshot.

They say that they ran behind the house and found Daniel holding a gray revolver in her hand.

They also stated that Daniel was heard saying that she would shoot Gipson in the head shortly before.

Officers spoke to Daniel where she recounted a different series of events.

Daniel told investigators that Gipson had walked up to her while she was standing on the front porch and took her car keys out of her hand, breaking a fingernail in the process.

She also stated that a few days prior, Gipson had walked into the bedroom of their residence and drug her out of the bed by her arm.

Daniel said that Gipson then either kicked her shin or pushed her shin into the bed.

Officers observed a large bruise on Daniel’s left arm and a smaller bruise on her right shin.

Both Daniel and Gipson were arrested and taken to the Ouachita Correctional Center.

Daniel charged with Domestic Abuse Aggravated Assault.

Gipson is charged with Domestic Abuse Battery.

Both are being held without bond.
