4 Malnourished horses seized in Ouachita Parish

Local News

Four horses were found abused and neglected so badly you can see their ribs in Ouachita Parish.
Four horses were brought to the Cooper Vet over the weekend.
A tip led parish officials to the abused animals and they were seized and taken for treatment after evaluating their conditions.
One horse named Fireball was so malnourished that he’s developed a protein deficiency.
One horse has been adopted, one is currently at the vet, and two of them are still being cared for at the shelter.
Shelter employees say feeding starved horses is expensive and they’re reaching out to the public for help.
“When they got here they were in pretty rough shape they look 100% per cent better than when they first got here. We put out a post, we put everything out for the community, for Ouachita Parish, and beyond, and the people answered,” says Dustin Campbell.
