Inmate sentenced for making threats against President Donald Trump

KINDER, La. (The News-Star) – (6/28/19) According to our partners at The News-Star, a man serving a sentence at Allen Correctional Center in Kinder has been sentenced to three years in federal prison for threatening death or bodily injury against President Donald Trump. 

Buddy Keith Myers, 24, wrote a series of letters from Feb. 12, 2018, to March 10, 2018, making threats against the president, according to a press release from the U.S. Department of Justice. He wrote most of the letters on inmate request forms and submitted them to prison officials, and mailed at least one letter to the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections.

Myers told law enforcement that his threats were serious, according to documents presented during his guilty plea in August.
