A father is behind bars following the release of a Snapchat  video where he Duct taped a 15 month old child while in his care.

On April 23, the Gonzales Police Department was forwarded a case from the Department of Child and Family services involving a recording posted to social media and described as “what to do with an unruly child” which had been reportedly bound with Duct tape while in the biological fathers care.

Investigators with Gonzales Police were able to secure the video from the biological mother after she reported the incident to DCFS shortly after the incident occurred around March 20. Investigators learned that the mother and the biological father, David Williams III, do not live together and that she had started a job working nights and assumed the father was capable of caring for the child while she was at work.

Once the video was obtained by this department and after its review by investigators an arrest warrant for 1 count of Cruelty to a Juvenile was secured for the arrest of Williams and the 15 month old child was removed from the home after the posting of the video.

The child reportedly obtained abrasions and redness in the areas where the tape had been applied.

Williams complied with Investigators request for an interview relative to his actions and culpability in connection with the child being bound with Duct tape. Williams arrived at the Gonzales Police Dept. during the late evening hours of May 9. Williams was interviewed and ultimately arrested relative to his actions regarding his treatment of the 15 month old child.

Williams was transported and booked into the Ascension Parish prison with a bond that has been set at $500,000.00.
