(3/26/19) Conway police say a prank caller reported a shooting in an elementary school Monday evening.
Investigators found the caller was six years old, calling from a disconnected cell phone.
Officials say dispatchers got a call around 5:30 p.m., saying someone was trying to “shoot up“ Marguerite Vann Elementary School, and that several people had been shot.
Officers checked the school and found nothing.
Investigators say the 911 operator stayed on the phone with the six year old until they could find the source.
Police say the child’s parents were home, but didn’t realize the disconnected phone could call 911.
