Arkansas Highway Commission approves bid for improvements in Columbia and Ouachita County

(3/15/19) The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved a bid for improvements to roadways in Columbia County and Ouachita County, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.  

The project in Columbia County is going to overlay approximately 1.1 miles of selected sections of various city streets in McNeil to include Wilson Street, Front Street, N. Oak Street, Church Street, S. Oak Street, N. 5th Avenue, and N. 4th Avenue.  

The project in Ouachita County is going to overlay approximately 1 mile of selected sections of various city streets in East Camden to include N. Haley Avenue, S. Haley Avenue, N. & S. Gallivan Avenue, and N. Womble Avenue; and approximately 1.3 miles of selected sections of various streets in Stephens to include W. Chert, Belafonte Street, Second Street, Smith Street, and 4th Street. 
C & F Construction Company, Inc. of Smackover was awarded the contract at $489,520.20 in Ouachita County and $202,554.00 in Columbia County. 

Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in early 2019.
