Annual Chamber of Commerce Fundraiser Adds Skeet Tournament

News
West Monroe, LA — There were lots of shotgun shells and crawfish tails at the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office rifle range today.

The fundraiser benefited the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce. The event featured fourteen hundred pounds of crawfish and the first ever skeet tournament.

Organizers hope the skeet tournament will draw more people from the community to help raise funds for the chamber.

“Of course we open it to our chamber of commerce members but we open it to the business community and the general community those who are interested. We want them to know more about the chamber and the work we do in the community. So we invite them and encourage them to take part,” says Courtney Hornsby, West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber member.

“We’ve had a crawfish boil the last three years but this year we decided we would take advantage of the great facility here at the rifle range, add a little fun, something different to our event and so this year we added the clay shoot,” says Staci Albritton, West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber member.

The fundraiser is an annual event.
