OUACHITA COUNTY, Ark. – KARK – A three-year-old boy has died in an apparent drowning in southern Arkansas.
The drowning happened shortly before 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Tates Bluff Bridge on Hwy. 86 near Chidester.
According to a report from the Ouachita Co. Sheriff’s Office, investigators were told that the child had been
playing with other children when the person watching them realized the little boy was no longer in the group.
A man who was standing in the Ouachita River told officials he saw the child floating face down and that he ran and grabbed him out of the water and started CPR on the tailgate of a truck.
The child was pronounced dead after being taken to Ouachita Co. Medical Center in Camden.
