Coronavirus in Louisiana: State reports 469 new cases, 7 new deaths on June 10

BATON ROUGE, La. — The Louisiana Department of Health reported 469 new cases and 7 new deaths on Thursday, June 10, 2021, bringing the total number of cases to 475,126 and the total number of deaths to 10,638.

The number of probable cases rose by 126 to 73,666 on Thursday while the total number of confirmed cases rose by 347 to a total of 401,460. The number of probable deaths rose by 1 to a total of 995 and the total number of confirmed deaths rose by 6 to 9,643. As stated on the LDH website, the new case increase may not match the difference between today’s total cases and the previous update because of the daily removal of newly identified duplicates and out-of-state cases.

Hospitalizations decreased by 8 on Thursday and the use of ventilators decreased by 3, bringing the total number of hospitalized patients to 281 with 34 on ventilators.

In Northeast Louisiana, 31 new cases and no new deaths were reported and no cases were rescinded. Ouachita Parish is still reporting the most cases and deaths in our area with 17,034 total confirmed cases and 414 total confirmed deaths.

  • Franklin Parish – 2,421 cases, 105 deaths (1 new case)
  • Union Parish –2,095 cases, 72 deaths (2 new cases)
  • Richland Parish – 2,037 cases, 43 deaths (2 new cases)
  • Concordia Parish –1,629 cases, 46 deaths (2 new cases)
  • Jackson Parish –1,556 cases, 46 deaths (1 new case)
  • Madison Parish –1,525 cases, 34 deaths (2 new cases)
  • Winn Parish –1,171 cases, 35 deaths (no change)
  • West Carroll Parish –1,108 cases, 39 deaths (1 new case)
  • La Salle Parish –1,056 cases, 25 deaths (2 new cases)
  • Catahoula Parish –907 cases, 33 deaths (no change) 
  • East Carroll Parish –891 cases, 23 deaths (no change)
  • Caldwell Parish – 784 cases, 24 deaths (1 new case)
  • Tensas Parish –325 cases, 6 deaths (no change)
