Coronavirus in Louisiana: State reports 878 new cases and 32 new deaths on Sunday

BATON ROUGE, La. — According to the Louisiana Department of Health website, Louisiana reported 878 new cases and 32 new deaths on Sunday, October 4. This latest update brings the total number of cases to 168,294 and the total number of deaths to 5,387 for the state.

This is a reflection of 2 days worth of additional cases.

In Northeast Louisiana, 184 new cases and 6 new deaths were reported while 3 cases were rescinded. Ouachita Parish is still reporting the most cases and deaths in our area with 6,428 cases and 149 deaths. There were also 8 new deaths reported in our area.

East Carroll Parish, West Carroll Parish, and Caldwell Parish all rescinded one case each.

  • Ouachita Parish – 6,428 cases, 149 deaths (64 new cases, 1 new death)
  • Lincoln Parish – 1,433 cases, 48 deaths (60 new cases)
  • Franklin Parish – 1,229 cases, 41 deaths (1 new case, 1 new death)
  • Union Parish – 1,007 cases, 46 deaths (10 new cases)
  • Madison Parish – 889 cases, 8 deaths (3 new cases)
  • Morehouse Parish – 822 cases, 22 deaths (13 new cases)
  • Richland Parish – 799 cases, 13 deaths (5 new cases, 1 new death)
  • Jackson Parish – 691 cases, 22 deaths (16 new cases)
  • Winn Parish – 642 cases, 19 deaths (3 new cases, 1 new death)
  • East Carroll Parish – 548 cases, 5 deaths (1 case rescinded, 1 new death)
  • Concordia Parish – 522 cases, 15 deaths (1 new case, 1 new death)
  • Catahoula Parish – 439 cases, 11 deaths (1 case rescinded)
  • La Salle Parish – 434 cases, 10 deaths (7 new cases, 2 new deaths)
  • West Carroll Parish – 350 cases, 10 deaths (no change)
  • Caldwell Parish – 302 cases, 3 deaths (1 new case)
  • Tensas Parish – 163 cases, 2 deaths (no change)
