Coronavirus in Louisiana: State reports 5,058 new cases and 41 new deaths on Friday

BATON ROUGE, La. — The Louisiana Department of Health reported 5,058 new cases and 41 new deaths on Friday, November 27, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 218,796 and the total number of confirmed deaths to 6,136 for the state.

Friday’s update is a reflection of new cases and deaths reported over the last 48 hours.

In Northeast Louisiana, 497 new cases and 8 new deaths were reported. Ouachita Parish is still reporting the most cases and deaths in our area with 9,516 total confirmed cases and 193 total confirmed deaths.

Here is a list of local parishes reporting confirmed cases and deaths:

  • Ouachita Parish – 9,516 cases, 193 deaths (243 new cases, 3 new deaths)
  • Lincoln Parish – 2,195 cases, 57 deaths (34 new cases, 1 new death)
  • Franklin Parish – 1,682 cases, 64 deaths (21 new cases, 1 new death)
  • Union Parish – 1,306 cases, 55 deaths (15 new cases, 1 new death)
  • Morehouse Parish – 1,305 cases, 30 deaths (44 new cases)
  • Richland Parish – 1,203 cases, 24 deaths (26 new cases, 1 new death)
  • Jackson Parish – 1,064 cases, 30 deaths (14 new cases)
  • Madison Parish – 1,031 cases, 12 deaths (19 new cases)
  • Concordia Parish – 890 cases, 19 deaths (14 new cases)
  • Winn Parish – 868 cases, 25 deaths (13 new cases)
  • East Carroll Parish – 734 cases, 9 deaths (9 new cases)
  • La Salle Parish – 657 cases, 13 deaths (13 new cases)
  • Catahoula Parish – 544 cases, 16 deaths (13 new cases)
  • Caldwell Parish – 550 cases, 8 deaths (10 new cases, 1 new death)
  • West Carroll Parish – 586 cases, 17 deaths (15 new cases)
  • Tensas Parish – 212 cases, 3 deaths (3 new cases)
