Coronavirus in Louisiana: State reports 1,708 new cases, 42 new deaths on Thursday

BATON ROUGE, La. — The Louisiana Department of Health reported 1,708 new cases and 42 new deaths on Thursday. Thursday’s update brought the total number of cases to 114,481 and the total number of deaths to 3,811 for the state..

In Northeast Louisiana, there were 146 new cases and 2 new deaths reported. Ouachita Parish is still reporting the most cases and deaths in our area with 4,304 cases and 104 deaths, an increase of 58 cases and 1 death since Wednesday’s update. Also on Thursday, the LDH rescinded one death from the total count for Lincoln Parish.

Here is a list of local parishes reporting cases and death:

  • Ouachita Parish – 4,304 cases, 104 deaths (58 new cases, 1 new death)
  • Franklin Parish – 759 cases, 16 deaths (14 new cases)
  • Lincoln Parish – 672 cases, 23 deaths (10 new cases, 1 death rescinded)
  • Union Parish – 573 cases, 32 deaths (12 new cases, 1 new death)
  • Madison Parish – 536 cases, 6 deaths (3 new cases)
  • East Carroll Parish – 492 cases, 1 death (no changes)
  • Richland Parish – 500 cases, 6 deaths (13 new cases, 1 new death)
  • Morehouse Parish – 422 cases, 11 deaths (2 new cases)
  • Winn Parish – 371 cases, 7 deaths (7 new case)
  • Jackson Parish – 347 cases, 18 deaths (2 new cases)
  • Catahoula Parish – 249 cases, 3 deaths (3 new cases)
  • Concordia Parish – 250 cases, 7 deaths (8 new cases)
  • West Carroll Parish – 242 cases, 5 deaths (8 new cases)
  • La Salle Parish – 213 cases, 2 death (5 new cases)
  • Caldwell Parish – 186 cases, 1 death (1 new case)
  • Tensas Parish – 54 cases, 0 deaths (no change)
