UPDATE: Two accused have been arrested in the Highland neighborhood murder case in Shreveport


UPDATE: SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL) – (6/14/19) Two people accused of fatally shooting a man in Shreveport’s Highland neighborhood now sit behind bars.

U.S. Marshals have arrested 23-year-old Tamara Baker and 35-year-old LeDarron Carter in connection with the shooting death of 25-year-old Deverous Holden.

Baker and Carter were taken into custody around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of East Jordan St.

Investigators believe Baker and Carter shot Holden shortly after 1:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Stoner Ave.   

When officers arrived they found Holden lying in the road with multiple gunshot wounds.  

Holden was taken to Ochsner LSU Health where he later died from his injuries.

Baker and Carter were booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of Second Degree Murder.

Their bond has been set at $300,000.


UPDATE: SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL) – (6/13/19) Shreveport Police say the victim shot Wednesday afternoon on Stoner Avenue has died.

The name of the victim has not been released. 

The shooting happened just after 1:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Stoner Avenue. The victim was found with a gunshot wound to his back. 



SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL) – (6/12/19) A man is at fighting for his life after being shot early this afternoon. 

Just after 1:30 p.m. today, Shreveport Police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 400 block of Stoner Avenue.

When they arrived on the scene, they found a male suffering at least one gunshot wound in his back.

The victim was transported to Oschners LSU Health with life-threatening injuries, and police are now at the scene interviewing witnesses. 

Although there have been no arrests, police detained at least witness who was there at the time of the shooting.
