Gabrielle Phifer joined KTVE/KARD in November 2018. She came to the ArkLaMiss from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois where she graduated with a Master’s of Science degree in Journalism.

While studying in the Medill program, Gabrielle spent a week in Johannesburg, South Africa. She covered the country’s state of politics since the Nelson Mandela era and its impact on the youth. She also spent a summer in Washington D.C. as a credentialed Capitol Hill reporter.

Before Medill, Gabrielle received her undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and worked for a non-proft youth organization thereafter.

Gabrielle is no stranger to the ArkLaMiss. She was born and raised in Crossett, AR and visited much of the southeastern Arkansas region through church and sports. She’s so excited to be back reporting news for her home state.

When she’s not reporting, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, volunteering with her church’s media ministry, traveling, and watching sports.

She is a proud member of the Saint Mark Baptist Church in Little Rock, AR, the National Association of Black Journalists, and the Beta Pi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Gabrielle lives by the quote “Never Give Up on You”. She hopes to inspire other girls and young women to follow their dreams.
