Vixen East Water System issues system-wide boil advisory

MONROE, La. — The Vixen East Water System has issued a boil advisory that affects all of their customers.

This advisory comes as the system is repairing a water main.

All customers are reminded to boil your water for one full minute before use.

Hot Pockets recalled because they may contain pieces of plastic, glass

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Nestlé Prepared Foods is recalling more than 700,000 pounds of Hot Pockets because they may be contaminated with pieces of glass or hard plastic, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service.

The company said they've received four complaints of consumers finding glass and plastic pieces in their frozen, not-ready-to-eat pepperoni Hot Pockets. One of those complaints involved a "minor oral injury," according to the USDA.

Partial boil advisory issued for River Road Water Works customers

RICHLAND PARISH, La. (KTVE/KARD) -- River Road Water Works has issued a partial boil advisory effective immediately and will remain until rescinded.

According to the company if you live on Highway 583 between Highway 80 and Temple Road. If you live in this area you are asked to boil your water for at least one full minute before consuming it.

Pet food recall expanded after 70 dogs die from toxin

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) -- A pet food company says it has increased the number of brands it has recalled due to a dramatic increase in the number of dogs that have died.

In December, Midwestern Pet Foods voluntarily recalled three varieties of Sportmix dog foods and cat foods after 28 dogs died after eating the mix, which has since increased to 70.
