A Monroe man killed in broad daylight over the weekend, and now his family is searching for answers in his murder.
The shooting happened over on South 3rd Street in Monroe around 3 p.m. Saturday.
Police and family say the victim is 38-year-old Charles Ellis.
His family says he was walking through their neighborhood with $11 in his pocket when he was shot.
His mother tells NBC 10/FOX 14 their community is getting more violent each day, and something has to be done.
No arrests have been made.

A West Monroe man is accused of threatening to kill deputies who broke up a disurbance.
The arrest report says 38-year-old Jimmy Lord, Jr. argued with deputies after they answered a complaint that he’d threatened a woman and her pets.
Even threatening to shoot them with his AK-47 assault rifle.
The threats reportedly continued even after he was cuffed.
Deputies allege Lord, Jr. told them he’d have killed the woman if they hadn’t arrived.
He’s been jailed on charges of threatening a public offical, resisting arrest, and simple assault.
