A Monroe man behind bars this morning after police say gunshots rang out at the American Legion on Powell Avenue this weekend.

According to an arrest report, security kicked Joey Lawrence out of the club due to some type of disturbance.

The bouncers tell police Lawrence went to his car and came back with a gun, then fired a shot at the security guard’s face!

Fortunately he was able to dodge the bullet.

Lawrence then fled the scene but the club worker was able to get his license plate number.

Lawrence admitted to getting into an altercation with the bouncer but denies shooting at him.
