The city of Monroe is trying to avoid facing a slew of trash violations this summer.

After last week’s Monroe City Council meeting, there was concern there may be some delay’s while the city waits for three new trash pickup trucks.

But city officials say, there is no cause for concern yet, as all seven of their vehicles are working properly.

In fact, they say since their educational efforts last year, they’ve seen a steady decline in trash.

The new trash vehicles will cost $150,000.

They won’t be ready to use for another seven months.
