A fight that ended in gunfire has killed a young mother who had nothing to do with it.
The fight broke out Saturday night in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Ringgold.
31-year-old Chanette Carter was sitting on her couch doing homework, when somebody started shooting.
A stray bullet hit her in the back.
Her five year old daughter found her.
Carter was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Bienville parish sheriff is looking for several people who were part of the fight.
So far deputies have made no arrests.
A 72-year-old woman has been shot and killed while others were hunting in Arkansas.
Deputies say a hunter shot the woman accidently near the Yale community off Highway 215 in Johnson County.
The hunter says he thought he was shooting at a deer.
Officials said the woman was with her sister.
As of now the hunter has not been arrested, pending the outcome of the investigation.
Arkansas Game and Fish said it’s not certain if the woman was hunting.
They haven’t released the names of those involved.
