A family trying to come to grips with what happened this morning, after a Morehouse Parish man is allegedly killed by his own grandson.
29-year-old Trent Little is one of three men charged in the death of retired police captain William Wyatt Smith.
22-year old Michael Harper and 27-year-old Dustin Sapp have also been arrested.
All are charged with first degree murder.
Investigators found Smith’s body in his home Wednesday, and say his credit card led them to the suspects, after one used it to pay for a hotel room near Pecanland Mall.
Louisiana has finished handing out next month’s food stamps early in case the shutdown drags into February.
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, puts its benefits on debit-style cards.
In Louisiana, that adds up to about $88 million worth of food spread among 338,000 Louisiana households.
It’s not extra help, but the usual food aid a family gets.
Which means they’ll have to make the food stretch for an entire month.
Neither Louisiana nor the government have laid out a plan if the shutdown stretches into March.
