Weather Update - Sunday January 14th

Winter Storm Watch is in effect for Union County (AR), Columbia County (AR), and Claiborne Parish (LA) until 6 PM Tuesday.

Tonight, we are going to see mostly clear skies as temperatures fall to the mid 20's once again. Expect temperatures to warm up tomorrow to the mid 50's despite waking up around 8 AM with temperatures at freezing. We will see mostly clear skies to partly cloudy skies tomorrow all ahead of our next cold front.

This cold front will swing through Monday afternoon where we are expecting showers to develop. As the showers are moving through, we will see the transition from rain to sleet/freezing rain mix, and then see snow late tonight though tomorrow morning. This event is going to last till the morning hours on Tuesday.

This front has enough moisture for wintry precipitation, but keep in mind that a lot of us will see a mix of wintry precipitation with temperatures near freezing as highs for Tuesday will be in the low 30's. We could see bridges and overpasses freeze over due to freezing temperatures and freezing rain possible.

Behind the front, we will see chilly arctic air sticking around through Thursday. Lows will be well below freezing through Saturday night and highs will stay near freezing for the next couple of days and then eventually warm up for this next upcoming weekend.
