WEST MONROE, La. - Good Friday morning, it's a mild start out there this morning with temperatures sitting in the upper 60's, even the lower 70's still in some spots. Yesterday was the warmest day of the year in Monroe as we topped out at 87 degrees, and it's going to be another toasty afternoon out there today with high temperatures topping out in the mid 80's this afternoon. Skies are going to be partly cloudy with a chance for an isolated shower throughout the morning and afternoon. Winds will be breezy, up to 15 mph from the south today.
Overnight tonight we are looking at a passing cold front bringing showers and thunderstorms to the area. Severe potential is low. We will see a line of showers and thunderstorms push into our NW coverage area around midnight and push east overnight and into tomorrow morning. You might hear a couple rumbles of thunder as this front passes and lows tonight will fall down into the mid 60's.
Tomorrow those showers and t'storms will be clearing out through the early part of the day. Rain should be completely cleared across the Mississippi River by the afternoon and cool, dry air will be taking place after that. High temperatures tomorrow will be sticking in the mid 70's with sunny skies later in the day with winds shifting from the north.
Saturday and Sunday night those lows will be dropping down in the 40's! And Sunday will see mostly sunny skies with a high around 67 degrees.
