Volunteers Honored at Commission Meeting

Four volunteers were honored by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Education Section at the May 2 Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission meeting.  Pete LeRoy, Kimberly Cedars, Christine Sedotal, and Victoria Waite were recognized for their distinguished service and dedication to LDWF's educational programs.

Four volunteers were honored by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Education Section at the May 2 Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission meeting.  Pete LeRoy, Kimberly Cedars, Christine Sedotal, and Victoria Waite were recognized for their distinguished service and dedication to LDWF's educational programs. 
 
"Volunteers are an essential component of LDWF's education mission," said Fred Kimmel,  LDWF director of Education and Technical Services.  "These four individuals are outstanding examples of the many volunteers that give freely of their time to share their knowledge and love of the outdoors with the citizens of Louisiana."
 
Pete LeRoy of Lake Charles, a 14-year veteran Hunter Education volunteer instructor, also volunteers to assist with programs including Louisiana Women in the Wild, FUN Camp, Becoming an Outdoors Woman, and the Youth Hunter Education Challenge.  
 
Kimberly Cedars of Boyce volunteers much of her time to assist with programs including Louisiana Women in the Wild, FUN Camp and  Becoming an Outdoors Woman.  In addition, she has served as a volunteer range officer at the Woodworth Shooting Range and as a Hunter Education volunteer instructor for almost a decade. 
 
Through their positions as Cabela's marketing representatives, Christine Sedotal of Baton Rouge and Victoria Waite of Lutcher have coordinated Cabela's sponsorship of LDWF educational programs, including FUN Camp, Becoming an Outdoors Woman and Louisiana Women in the Wild.  In addition, both have volunteered their personal time to support and aid in the administration of the Louisiana Women in the Wild program.
