Veteran's Day Events Happening Today

Veteran's Day Luncheon; Freedom Tree Lighting
Veteran's Day luncheon and program:
Griffin Funeral Home will sponsor a special Veteran’s Day Program and Luncheon at Carolyn Rose Strauss Senior Center on Ferrand at 10:30 a.m. Monday Nov. 11. Featured speakers are Gary Littleton and John Leddon with music by Pat Sherman. All veterans and families are invited. More info contact Lynda McGeehe 998-0292 or Kenneth Griffin 396-3191.

Freedom Trees:
The Chennault Aviation and Military Museum, 701 Kansas lane, Monroe is honoring our military past and present with the Freedom Trees . Donate a badge, ribbons, or photo to be displayed on the Freedom Trees. Ceremony and lighting is at 5pm on Veteran's Day at the Museum. Each branch of the Military is represented. The trees will be shown though Jan. 2, 2014 More info 362-5540 Museum open all day Veteran's Day , admission is no charge .

The Museum is usually closed on Mondays, but the museum is to honor our Military, so it is fitting to be open for them to visit. Open, Monday Nov 11. 9 am to 5:00 pm.
