UPDATE: Four jury members have been selected in the trial of Jonesboro Mayor Leslie Thompson.

Thompson was arrested back in February, charged by the state with three counts of malfeasance in office.

Jonesboro, LA -- Jury selection continued Tuesday in the trial of Jonesboro Mayor Leslie Thompson.

Attorneys for Thompson are still questioning the first panel of potential jurors.

He's asked questions such as do you belong to a political party, and if they've ever did a Google search of Leslie Thompson.

Meanwhile, there is an increased law enforcement presence outside of the Jackson Parish Courthouse.

Jackson Parish Sheriff Andy Brown says the reason for the increase presence is because of the circumstances surrounding this trial, and comments made during the rally yesterday.

Deputies from La Salle, Rapides, Ouachita, Winn, Bienville, Caldwell and Lincoln, as well as Louisiana State Police are outside the courthouse.
