Farmerville -- A Farmerville man remains in the Union Parish Detention Center accused of beating his handcuffed girlfriend, holding her against her will and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Lee Wilson Turner, 28, of 189 Green Bay Rd., was booked on charges of second-degree domestic battery, false imprisonment, simple kidnapping, possession of drug paraphernalia and the weapons charge.

Total bond on the first four charges was set at $15,750. No bond had been set Thursday on the weapons charge.

Sheriff Dusty Gates said a complaint was received from the victim on Dec. 14 who complained that Turner had handcuffed and beaten her and slammed her head through the dry wall of the residence. She reported that she escaped, but that Turner ran her down in his car and handcuffed her. The suspect refused to let her go and constantly struck her in the face when she said something.

She told deputies, from her mother’s home in Ruston, that her eyes were swollen shut and she had lost her hearing in one ear. Deputies said they asked her to get medical help and then come to UPSO to file a report.

Gates said the victim did not show up and deputies started searching for her. Two days later the victim was found at Turner’s address. She told deputies at that time that she had fallen and injured herself.

Deputies obtained a search warrant and inside the house they found the handcuffs as described by the victim when she first called and a hole in the dry wall as she described.

Also found in the residence was a glass pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine and a water pipe commonly used to smoke marijuana.

The next day a second search warrant was issued on the residence where deputies recovered a number of firearms, Gates said.
