Tropical Storm Andrea Forms in Gulf of Mexico

Tropical Storm Andrea formed in the Gulf of Mexico on Wednesday, the National Hurricane Center has reported.
5:30p Update:
Andrea's maximum sustained winds are estimated at 40 mph and is currently moving northward. Heavy rainfall, isolated tornadoes, and gusty winds are expected in western Florida as Andrea moves northward. Andrea's official forecast only calls for slight intensification as it moves eastward up the U.S. East Coast over the next few days. Eventually, Andrea will become post-tropical as it interacts with a trough of low pressure moving through the central United States.  Tropical Storm Andrea is not expected to have any impacts on the Ark-La-Miss.


Tropical Storm Andrea formed in the Gulf of Mexico on Wednesday, the National Hurricane Center has reported. It's the first storm of the 2013 Atlantic hurricane season. An Air Force reconnaissance aircraft found a well-defined circulation over the east-central Gulf, and advisories on Tropical Storm Andrea will start shortly, the center said. Tropical Storm Andrea formed in the Gulf of Mexico on Wednesday, the National Hurricane Center has reported.The system has a high chance of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.
