Ruston -- Louisiana Tech leading scorer Raheem Appleby will be out 6-8 weeks with an ankle injury.

X-rays and a CT scan showed no bone fracture, but an MRI on Monday did revealed ligament damage.

The Bulldogs leading scorer will be sidelined for six to eight weeks, however further evaluation by doctors may determine that season-ending surgery is needed.

The injury was suffered in the first half of the Conference USA opener versus Florida Atlantic on Jan. 9.

Appleby has been the team's leading scorer each of the past three seasons and was averaging 16.1 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.

Earlier this year he became the 35th Bulldog to eclipse the 1,000 career scoring mark.
