Study: Does Your College Major Matter?

If you have a job that has nothing to do with your college major -- guess what? You're not alone.
CNN -- All of that hard work you put in trying to pick the right major in college may have been for nothing.  A new survey says your degree doesn't always determine your career path.

And if you have a job that has nothing to do with your college major -- guess what? You're not alone.

A new survey from Careerbuilder.com says about one-third of college-educated workers say they have never found a job related to their major.

That holds true even for seasoned workers who are 35 and older.

But that doesn't mean it's been a let-down -- a human resources rep for the job search site says most workers who went into a new field ended up liking it.

Careerbuilder surveyed about 2,100 workers across the nation.
