State of Emergency Declared Due to Winter Weather

Governor Bobby Jindal issued a proclamation today declaring a state of emergency as a result of the extreme cold weather conditions that threaten the lives and property of the citizens of the state.
Baton Rouge -- Governor Bobby Jindal issued a proclamation today declaring a state of emergency as a result of the extreme cold weather conditions that threaten the lives and property of the citizens of the state.

On Wednesday evening, Governor Jindal issued a state of emergency related to the transportation and delivery of propane and heating fuel products due to extreme cold weather.

The winter weather prompted 38 state offices to close across the state. 

This state of emergency extends from Friday, January 24, 2014 to Saturday, February 22, 2014, unless terminated sooner.
