Saints Seek to Break Loudest Crowd Roar at an Indoor Sports Stadium

A Guinness World Records representative will be in attendance for the Saints’ Sunday Night Football contest against the Carolina Panthers.
New Orleans – The New Orleans Saints announced today that a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® representative will be in attendance for the Saints’ Sunday Night Football contest against the Carolina Panthers.

Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. and can be seen on KTVE NBC 10.

The official record that the Saints and their fans will attempt to break will be “the loudest crowd roar at an indoor sports stadium.” The current record is 126 dBA, which was set by fans of the Sacramento Kings at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento on November 15, 2013.

“We, as an organization, take tremendous pride in the great home field advantage that our fans provide for us each and every home game,” said Saints Owner/Chairman of the Board Tom Benson. “This is a unique opportunity to enter the Guinness Book of Records and we’re confident that our fans will help us achieve the goal. It’s a testament to their passion that we’re hosting a representative from Guinness Book of Records and it speaks to the anticipation that they have for how loud our crowd will be. We were part of history last week in Seattle and we are confident that our fans can make history, too.”

Measurements will be recorded beginning with the ‘Who Dat!’ chant prior to the start of the game and will be measured throughout the contest, including after scoring plays and when the Panthers are in possession of the football. The Saints will issue prompts at opportune times throughout the contest and fans before the conclusion of the game will be notified if the record is broken.
