It was a record setting night for Drew Brees and the Saints as they defeated the Carolina Panthers 31-13 on Sunday Night Football.
New Orleans -- It was a record setting night for Drew Brees and the Saints as they defeated the Carolina Panthers 31-13 on Sunday Night Football.

With the win the Saints improve to 10-3 and claim the top spot in the NFC South.

Brees threw for 313 yards and four touchdowns. Two apiece to WR Marques Colston and TE Jimmy Graham.

During the game, Brees surpassed 50,000 passing yards for his career, becoming just the 5th QB in NFL history to reach that mark.

Brees also added another record to his resume, surpassing 4,000 yards for the 8th straight season – a new NFL record.

The Saints are on the road next week against the St. Louis Rams.
