The Saints released QB Seneca Wallace Monday as well as LB Chase Thomas, CB Dion Turner, G Ricky Henry and WRs Steve Breaston, Patrick Crayton and Jarred Fayson.

Additionally, the Saints released undrafted free agent linebacker Chase Thomas and recent signees at wide receiver Steve Breaston and Patrick Crayton Monday.

Wallace was competing with veteran Luke McCown and rookie Ryan Griffin for reserve quarterback spots behind Drew Brees.

Wallace did not appear in the Saints’ first preseason game versus Kansas City either by coach’s decision or due to his recovery from an abductor injury.

In New Orleans’ second preseason game, Wallace completed three-of-six passes for 32 yards and an interception. He was also sacked twice.

This marks the second year in a row that Wallace has been cut in the preseason after Cleveland let him go prior to the start of the season a year ago.
