Due to inclement weather last Saturday, November 9, 2013, the  Veteran’s Day Duck Derby Race will be held this Saturday at noon on the Ouachita River.

A Gumbo Contest will be held between three vendors at the RiverMarket this weekend. The contest will include Trio's, Kevin Green, and Stu’s Mobile Bistro. Trios will serve up two gumbos as a tantalizing tandem for your taste buds. Their Chicken and Sausage Gumbo is a hearty helping of chunk white meat chicken and savory sausage smothered in a house recipe roux. Lump meat and garden fresh ingredients make up their secret second recipe of Seafood Gumbo. Stu's Mobile Bistro will break out his best blonde roux, showcasing a delicious Chicken and Sausage Gumbo with gobs of whole meat chicken and cajun sausage. For his darker side, Stu will cook up a deeper brown concoction of farm raised crawfish, peeled gulf shrimp and fresh fish in his very original Seafood Gumbo. Kevin Greene's “six hour savory sensation” blends his twist of pit-smoked chicken, hand- chopped s ausage, and fresh okra to create a mastered recipe of Chicken and Sausage Gumbo.
