Police: Lost T.V. Makes Man Draw Gun on Victims

Monroe Police report an armed robbery occurred over a dispute over a T.V.
MONROE -- At 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Monroe Police report responding to an armed robbery at a residence in the 1600 block of S. 12th Street in Monroe.

Police said their investigation revealed that Bentarrious Tarver of Monroe went to that residence and demanded the people there give him a T.V. that Tarver is alleged to have left at that location the previous day.

The occupants of the house told Tarver the T.V. was no longer there and had been reported to Monroe PD the day before as found property.

Police report Tarver then produced a handgun and demanded money from the victims in order to pay for the T.V.

The victims stated they didn't have any money and Tarver left the scene on foot while the victims called the police.

Monroe Police said they were able to locate the gun and Tarver after a brief search of the area.

Tarver was arrested and booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center for one count of Armed Robbery.

The T.V. is believed to be the stolen property from an unrelated incident that Tarver was hiding at the victims' house. 

No one was injured during the conflict.
