Police Investigating Driver Responsible for Multiple Collisions

Monroe Police officers said they are currently investigating a suspected impaired driver believed to be responsible for three different vehicle collisions.

UPDATE:  Monroe Police have identified the driver arrested in response to three different vehicle crashes.

Saul Daggs was booked into OCC on numerous charges, including DWI.


MONROE -- Monroe Police officers said they are currently investigating a suspected impaired driver believed to be responsible for three different vehicle collisions.

All the collisions occurred on U.S. Highway 165 in the area of Renwick and Louberta St. to Desiard St.

The driver has been taken into custody.

The identity of the driver is not being released at this time because chemical tests for intoxication are still being conducted by police.

No injuries were reported in the collisions and all of the vehicle damage has been reported as minor to moderate.

Police said initial field sobriety testing indicated the suspect could possibly be under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance.
