MADISON PARISH -- The former administrator of the Madison Parish Hospital agrees to a plea deal with federal prosecutors.
Wendell Alford will be sentenced on February 3 at the federal courthouse in Monroe.
According to an audit released last year by the Louisiana Legislative Auditor's office, Alford, Russell Ham and Casey Hughes were accused fraudulently billing and splitting a total of $5 million. Alford, Ham and Hughes all agreed to a 10-year sentence with fines. Alford ran Madison Parish Hospital from 2006 through 2012. It was during that time the fraud is accused of taking place.
