Nick Lawton- General Assignment Reporter

Nick Lawton is a General Assignment Reporter for NBC 10/Fox 14 News.
Nick Lawton joined the NBC 10 News Team in March 2013 as a General Assignment Reporter. He grew up in Dallas and is happy to bring his reporting to the Bayou State for the first time!
 
Nick's reporting road began at the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. While at OU, Nick covered everything from Sooner football games to award-winning coverage of statewide insurance scams. Nick worked as a Senior Producer, Reporter and Anchor for OU's student-run newscast, OU Nightly. Nick also worked as a Multimedia Reporter for OU's student newspaper, The Oklahoma Daily. Boomer Sooner!
 
While still in college, Nick worked for two years as an online reporter for Palestra.net, The College Network. He also gained internships at Fox 4 News in Dallas and KFOR Newschannel 4 in Oklahoma City, where he got his first job in the business as an Overnight News Writer in 2010.
 
Nick's first reporting job was at KWES NewsWest 9 in Midland/Odessa, Texas. In his nearly two years of experience there, Nick investigated hydraulic oil fracturing, reported from inside the tent cities of the homeless and went live mere feet away from 80,000-acre wildfires.
 
Nick has years of experience going live from the field, bringing you the latest and most important details on a story.
 
While not reporting, Nick enjoys reading, exercising, movies, video games, volunteering and exploring the beautiful lands of the ArkLaMiss!
