Verlerica Dykes (Monroe Police Department)
MONROE -- Monroe Police have arrested two women in connection to local burglaries, but have also discovered a link between them and the Cory Bahr case.
Around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Monroe Police arrested Verlerica Dykes and Derkiea Wilkerson, both of Monroe, for Illegal possession of stolen things involving investigations at the River and Rail Restaurant and Cornerbar in Monroe. Patrol officers made contact with the above subjects during the stop of a vehicle believed to be involved in burglaries at those locations.
During the contact, police say stolen property along with narcotics and weapons were recovered. Police also pulled up a warrant for Dykes' arrest.
Police say a search of Dykes home has led to the recovery of items that have been confirmed to have been stolen in a vehicle burglary reported on December 17 involving Restaurant Cotton chef, Corey Bahr.
Detectives are investigating the above two suspects involvement in the Bahr case and charges are pending in that case.
The investigation is ongoing.
