The Monroe City Council is expected to vote tonight to add four new members to serve on the I-20 Economic Development District Board.
Monroe -- The Monroe City Council is expected to vote tonight to add four new members to serve on the I-20 Economic Development District Board.

The board has sat quiet for months, with not having enough members to hold a quurom.

Councilman Armstrong says he will nominate Johnny Bryant to sit on the board.

On his Facebook page, Armstrong penned a letter to Mayor Jamie Mayo saying
"Hopefully, you will not remove nominees as you have done twice in the past. Johnny Bryant is a good man, qualified for the job."

Three other members are also being nominated, including Council Chairman Eddie Clark.

The Council was set to appoint new members at the last council meeting, but pulled those nominations from the agenda.

Chairman Eddie Clark said he wants the mayor to drop the lawsuit, concerning the council stripping the mayor's removal power on the I-20 board.

The lawsuit is against all of the council members except Ezernack.
