WEST MONROE -- A Louisiana political website is bringing up a situation involving Vance McAllister's campaign manager, Kim Leija and links to an FBI probe.
This dates back to the FBI investigation into former Ouachita Parish Sheriff Royce Toney.
Leija, who served as Toney's Chief of Staff and campaign manager, was never charged in that case.
In that case, a former deputy was charged with hacking into Leija's computer and Toney faced a charge of knowingly not reporting expenditures to Leija.
McAllister said this kind of campaigning is unnecessary and wrong.
"You took a woman who did the right thing," he said. "The person she turned state's evidence over has been convicted. It's as simple as that. Ask me anything. I don't hide. What got me here is being honest and having integrity and I believe everybody, wrong or right, deserves a second chance."
www.lapolitics.com published the story on its website Tuesday evening.
