MONROE -- At 10:30 p.m. Saturday night, Monroe Police report responding to 100 South Grand in Monroe at Austin's Lounge in reference to a large crowd.
Police said the crowd was mostly juveniles leaving the building and filling the streets, estimated at 300 people.
MPD reports they received notice of shots fired in the area and at several other locations and Louisiana State Police and the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office were called in to assist in crowd control.
Police said they were able to move the crowds from the downtown area and disperse any disturbances.
During this time, police report a victim was found lying unconscious on the ground at 100 N. 4th Street. The victim told police he had been attacked by several unknown subjects and beaten with an unknown weapon.
Police report the victim stated his wallet and an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen from him.
The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for facial injuries and then released.
Authorities report no suspects have been identified so far and no other injuries were reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
