Louisiana Governor Weighs In on Riser/McAllister Congressional Race

On Tuesday, KTVE/KARD asked Louisiana's Republican governor, Bobby Jindal, if he's endorsing either man.
OUACHITA PARISH -- As we draw closer to this weekend's congressional election the pressure mounts on candidates Vance McAllister and State Senator Neil Riser.

Both are Republican.

On Tuesday, KTVE/KARD asked Louisiana's Republican governor, Bobby Jindal, if he's endorsing either man.

Here's what he had to say:

"We haven't endorsed yet. I would say this: Neil Riser is ceratinly a good friend, a great conservative leader for Louisiana. I was a little concerned. I saw where Vance wanted Louisiana to actually participate in Obamacare through the Medicaid expansion. I think that would be a mistake, could cost our taxpayers up to $1.7 billion, could move over 200,000 people out of private insurance. I think it would drive the cost of health care up, drive the quality down, so I'm a little concerned with that position he's taken. I disagree with that. Again, we haven't endorsed in the race. Neil is a good friend. He is a good conservative reformer, but we haven't made any decisions on endorsements," Jindal said.
