Jindal Weighs in on the 5th Congressional Race

St. Joseph -- Governor Bobby Jindal stopped short of endorsing Neil Riser during a visit to Tensas Parish on Monday, but did have a lot to say about Riser and his opponent Vance McAllister.

Jindal called Riser a "good friend and a good conservative leader for Louisiana".

As for McAllister Jindal said he was concerned over what McAllister said during a recent debate concerning the medicaid expansion through the Affordable Care Act.

"We haven't endorsed yet. I would say this: Neil Riser is ceratinly a good friend, a great conservative leader for Louisiana. I was a little concerned. I saw where Vance wanted Louisiana to actually participate in Obamacare through the Medicaid expansion. I think that would be a mistake, could cost our taxpayers up to $1.7 billion, could move over 200,000 people out of private insurance. I think it would drive the cost of health care up, drive the quality down, so I'm a little concerned with that position he's taken. I disagree with that. Again, we haven't endorsed in the race. Neil is a good friend. He is a good conservative reformer, but we haven't made any decisions on endorsements," Jindal said.
