Heather Parker co-anchors KTVE 10 News at 5, 6 and 10.

Heather Parker is an award-winning journalist who anchors KTVE NBC 10 News at 5, 6 and 10.

Heather has consistently been on the air longer than any other news anchor in the Ark-La-Miss. She has family roots in Louisiana but grew up in Alabama, where her journey into journalism began.  While attending classes at The University of Alabama, Heather's on-the-job training began at the television station in Tuscaloosa.  On the weekends, she hosted a Sunday morning gospel radio show.  Heather was also selected to anchor the noon newscast for Alabama Public Radio. After graduation, Heather immediately went to work as a producer at Fox 6 News in Birmingham.

Soon after, she moved to Northeast Louisiana. She's been in the field and on the anchor desk for over twelve years now.  Heather has won television awards for investigative, feature and spot news, along with awards in radio for best features and use of sound.

Heather's heart lies in animal rescue and welfare.  She currently hosts a weekly series called "Heather's Pet Project" to spread awareness about animal overpopulation, along with issues that affect families and their pets.  Heather is one of the founding members of The Delta Humane Society in Richland Parish.  She is also the Louisiana State Coordinator for Friends of Rescued Mastiffs, a national non-profit organization.  Heather also spends her time helping children in need.  She now hosts the area's fund drive for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

She spends her spare time training dogs in foster care and volunteering for various community organizations.  Heather is married to local business owner, Trey Parker.  They are owned by three mastiffs, a terrier and two cats.  You can contact Heather anytime at hparker@nbc10news.net
