GSU Ministries, Student Union Board Observe MLK Day Monday

Local attorney, businesswoman Alana Belton is guest speaker.
GRAMBLING, La. (GSU Media Relations) -- Grambling State University campus ministries and the Favrot Student Union Board will host a Martin Luther King Jr. celebration at 5 p.m. Monday. 

The event will start at the university quadrangle, or "quad," near Long-Jones Hall, Grambling Hall, T.H. Harris Auditorium and the new fighting tiger sculpture. There will be a candelight procession to the Black and Gold Room on the second floor of the Favrot Student Union just a short walk away. The entire event will last less than an hour.

Alana Belton is a prominent attorney and businesswoman in Monroe, West Monroe and Ruston. She and her husband, attorney John Belton, operate Belton and Belton, a Ruston-based law firm. In addition, the two own and operate several businesses in the area, including three Wing Stops, including the Sterlington Road Wing Stop in Monroe, Wing Stop #16 on Cypress Avenue in West Monroe and the Wing Stop in Ruston.  In addition, they own Victory Sports Academy in West Monroe.
