NBC NEWS -- Gas prices jumped an average of more than eight cents a gallon over the past three weeks.
According to the Lundberg Survey of 2,500 filling stations nationwide, the highest prices are in Long Island, New York.
There, a gallon of gas is going for $3.67 on average.
Albuquerque, New Mexico has the lowest average price, at $2.97 a gallon.
Lundberg expects price hikes to be fairly small in the near term.
